BALLOT MEASURES IN 2016: YOUR OPINION ON PROPOSED NEW LAWS
In addition to making your selections for President, US Senator, and other important elected offices this year, you will also see the following two “yes or no” questions on your ballot.
The two questions involve changes to the Georgia Constitution. If at least 50% of the votes cast are “yes”, the first proposed constitutional amendment would automatically become law as of January 1, 2017.The second amendment would allow the legislature to provide for additional penalties or fees on the crimes listed in the question.
Proposed Constitutional Amendments:
State Intervention in Failing Public Schools Amendment:
Shall the Constitution of Georgia be amended to allow the state to intervene in chronically failing public schools in order to improve student performance?

Safe Harbor for Sexually Exploited Children Fund Amendment:
Shall the Constitution of Georgia be amended to allow additional penalties for criminal cases in which a person is adjudged guilty of keeping a place of prostitution, pimping, pandering, pandering by compulsion, solicitation of sodomy, masturbation for hire, trafficking of persons for sexual servitude, or sexual exploitation of children and to allow assessments on adult entertainment establishments to fund the Safe Harbor for Sexually Exploited Children Fund to pay for care and rehabilitative and social services for individuals in this state who have been or may be sexually exploited?
